The Bandhas - 3 Part Series

These workshops aim to provide a beginners approach to understanding what Bandhas are!

Bandhas is one of those elusive yogic terms that you may have heard thrown around in a class

here and there and are probably sitting there going….’ummm say what?’ Join us for a deeper

exploration of the mechanics of Bandhas and getting a felt sense of how these interact with your

physical and mental bodies in your practice on and off the mat.

SESSION #1 with Tricya (Maitri Devi):

We will begin the series learning the basics of PADA  BANDHA and introduction to MULA BANDHA.

Bandhas are incredibly valuable yogic tools / practices that are said to awaken and release

stagnant and stuck energy (prana = Life force energy) in the body. 

BUT... there are so many more effects and benefits to knowing the locks/binds we contain in the

body!

What you will learn in session #1

1.  The anatomy of pada and mula bandha.

2. The impact these bandhas have on your asana practice.

3. The impact they have on your mobility off your mat

4. How these bandhas support your emotional balance.

SESSION #2 with Rachel (Devika):

In this BANDHA WORKSHOP SERIES - SESSION #2 with Rachel (Devika), we will

continue the series learning the basics of UDDIYANA BANDHA and expand on MULA

BANDHA.

What you will learn in SESSION #2

1. The anatomy of Uddiyana bandha and expanding on Mula bandha.

2. The impact these bandhas have on your asana practice.

3. The impact they have on your health and wellbeing off the mat.

4. How these bandhas create connection to your physical body and emotional stability.

And MORE.

SESSION #3 with DIANA

In this BANDHA WORKSHOP SERIES - SESSION #3 with Diana, we will continue the

series learning the basics of HASTA BANDHA and bringing all the bandhas together.

In this third workshop, students will explore mindful hand placement in poses such as table,

puppy, down dog and plank. Students can expect to find more ease in these poses by

incorporating hasta bandha and shoulder alignment techniques that will enhance the feeling of

support and grounding. In this final workshop, we bring all the concepts together by weaving all

the bandhas into a final, engaging flow.

1. The anatomy of hasta bandha and shoulder alignment techniques.

2. The impact these bandhas have on your asana practice.

3. How mindful hand placement can protect you from wrist and shoulder injuries.

4. How these bandhas create connection to your physical body and emotional stability.

THE WORKSHOP DATES:

May 1st (DEVI) , 8th (DEVIKA) & 15th (DIANA).

1-3pm

COST: $99 for all three parts

Early bird $90 (ENDS April 24th)

These workshops will be 2hrs including theory, asana exploration and Q&A.
